A question & a FLASH FREEBIE!!!

Happy Monday....maybe?!?

This is going to be a quick post tonight. Just a couple of things.

First, a question!  I got one of these for Christmas last year. Do you have one? How do you use it in your classroom? Do you store centers in it? Student organization? Teacher organization?

I knew I had to have one when I saw it, but I'm still trying to decide how to utilize it.

Have you linked up with me for my B2S Mixer Linky yet? Come over & tell us some random things about you & let's get to know each other better.

Finally, I'm linking up with my sweet bloggy friend Christine from Preslar's Place for her Back to School Linky

I'm mentioning a little number sort that I just created. Right now it's basic, I wanted to get it out there for those of you that are already going back to school (I fortunately have until Labor Day to get it completely ready for my kiddos). As it is right now would be great for Pre-K (later in the year) & Kinder, but once I create the update for it (soon), it will be useful for 1st grade & 2nd as well.

Right now it includes the cards below for numbers 1-20. Students simply sort all the different ways 1 is depicted, 2, 3, and so forth up to 20. I will update the pack to include addition representation to 20 as well. If you purchase/download this pack you will get the update for free.

Ah....did you catch that I said  "download!" Yes I am having a flash freebie with this product, it is free in my store until I go to bed tonight. I decided to leave it free until I get up in the morning, since it's only about early evening on the West Coast right now & here on the East Coast it's 11pm. So it'll stay free until tomorrow (tuesday) morning. Hurry over & scoop yours up. Remember to leave some positive feedback. Flash freebie is over. Thank you to everyone who downloaded it & love some great feedback. Watch for the update, I hope to be working on it this week. For those of you who missed it, it is now for sale in my store.

Have you linked up with Christine yet to display your back-to-school items? Or have you headed over to her blog & checked out what others are offering?

I hope to see you linking up with Christine and with myself.

  1. I have one of those drawer carts and I use it for my Monday-Friday "baskets". Mine must only have 8 drawers (that pic has 10), so the bottom three are used to store upcoming copies, star of the week packets, etc. The bottom three drawers' usage has changed through the years.

  2. I teach student's with autism, so I only have 6 students in my class. I use that bin for each of the students to place their completed work in. I label it with their names and pictures, and try and match it to their class color! I love that bin. Made organizing finished work so much easier!

  3. I just bought one on Saturday because I kept seeing them on everybody's blogs. I have no idea what I am going to do with it either, but it was only $29 at Sam's, so seemed like it would be valuable for something. :) (It's the teacher in us---we just think we have to have all of these neat things :)

  5. I have one at home and use it to organize scrapbook paper but I've seen them effectively used to hold the items you'll need for each day of the week. (I have a different kind of bin at school that I use for this and I love having everything divided by the day it's being used!)

  8. I have 2 of the carts in my classroom. I have them behind my teacher table. One stores things that I use during guided reading (letter tiles, word strips, dry erase items, flashcards, comprehension activities, etc) and the other stores things that I use during guided math (ten frames, flashcards, number lines, counting ropes, dice, dominoes, games, etc). They work well for me! :)

  10. I use mine to store Literacy Center Materials. I update the drawers as my students need more and are ready for a higher level. I pull a drawer and place in the table for letters match, cvc words, rhyming and etc. After centers, drawers are easily replaced for the next day.

  12. I just got one of these carts (the one with 20 drawers) from a teacher who retired. I plan to use it like some people use cubbies. Each student will have a drawer and in it will be there math workbook, hand writing workbook, and any other folder or book they might need throughout the day. I have not tired it yet, but these types of materials use to be stored in baskets by whole class so I am trying something a little different. My students also have seat sacks which they store pencil boxes etc in as I do not have cubbies.
